In a special announcement last night during our Hamilton 400 preview group chat, it was confirmed that James Moffat will join the fans here at the V8 Supercars Fan Group next month for a live chat from Queensland Raceway.

On May 1 at 11am QLD time, James will answer the tough questions from fans about things all V8 Supercars. Exclusive to V8SFG only!


Who is James Moffat?
Son of the famous four-time Bathurst winner, James Moffat returns to the Fujitsu V8 Supercar Series after an impressive first year in 2009 where he finished runner-up in the championship and sealed the Mike Kable Young Gun Award.

In 2010 he will drive a Ford Rising Stars Falcon run by Ford Performance Racing, which Moffat will join for the Phillip Island and Bathurst endurance races later in the season.

Moffat Jnr began his own driving career in karts and then in the one-make Lotus Series before moving into the rough and tumble of V8 Ute racing, where he was crowned Rookie of the Year and seventh in the championship in 2005. Struggling for budget he disappeared from the cockpit until returning in Formula Ford for Sonic Motor Racing in 2007, finishing third in the series and again Rookie of the Year.

Moving into Carrera Cup in 2008, Moffat was again impressive, clinching yet another rookie award and a race and round win in the final event on the Gold Coast before making the move into the Fujitsu Series last year with Sonic in an ex-Craig Lowndes Falcon.

The Norton 360 backed driver is one rising superstar to keep an eye on in the future - already been linked to Ford Performance Racing!

BTW I've had a busy, busy, busy week (my mum's Ford's auto went off so I've had to be ferried around everywhere and had to take buses home) that's why I didn't turn up to GC last night
