FPR was only gonna make a 4 car team if they could secure the PMM licence. That licence i believe has gone to DJR to make a four car team. So FPR are sticking with a 3 car team and the development series.

Personally I don't think Reynolds will stay at Kelly, it'll make for one hell of an awkward season for him, I think it would be better if the just both end the contract now and be done with.

MyHolden11: Intertesting lisiting, it's Tom Tweedie not Tim Tweedie. And Nick Foster has already been confirmed he is running in the Carrera Cup series. And due to the fact the Ashley Walsh didn't race with Miles Racing in the last two rounds of last season, you get the feeling he won't be going back.

And also, a new point of discussion; Nick Cassidy has just come out of this weekend leading the Toyota Racing Series, if he wins this series then I would say he would be off to Europe following Mitch Evans, but there is still a small possibillity that he may be make in the V8. But idk, just a thought.

Ash Walsh has been linked both to a drive at Matthew White Motorsport, but it looks like there won't be one there, and linked to a drive at Eggleston Motorsport, which hosts two cars when they can. It is believed that Gavin Bullas will drive one of those cars and speculated that Ash Walsh will pilot the other.

I don't think Ash Walsh will be back, unless he can find some money to race with someone..

I just had a thought, and whoever is follow this post in particular would know that I have put Scott Pye at Triple Eight. I don't really know who Scott Pye is, i know he did Aussie Formula 3 or something. But the reason i put him there was because i heard he was talking to triple eight about a potential drive, and i think 888 should've realised that it is a little bit heartless to run someone like Andrew Thompson or Warren Luff who will just dominate in a 888 car cause of there main game experience.

At Phillip Island, Dane confirmed that his entry in the Fujitsu Series would remain in 2012, but without its current driver Andrew Thompson.

While Dane acknowledged that a vacant spot in his V8 development car could be a place for Pye, he maintained that the focus was to keep him overseas.

V8 Supercars has made two key changes to the Development Series regulations ahead of the 2012 season.

From Adelaide’s opening round, the second-tier class will no longer allow teams to run twin-spring rear suspension set-ups.

The practice of using two springs per damper was pioneered in the main series several years ago, and is believed to have been used by a number of Championship teams in last year’s DVS.

In addition, the control camshaft introduced to the V8 Supercars Championship in June of 2010 will be compulsory for the DVS from Round 3 onwards. The 2011 DVS field featured a mixture of cars running with and without the control cam.

Long-time team owner Matthew White believes that banning the use of dual springs will help bridge the gap between the teams that also run Championship cars and squads such as his own.

“For the good of the category, it’s the best decision,” White told Speedcafe.com.

“It levels the playing field. If there are Level One teams involved, it means that they can’t just grab what they’ve run in the Main Series and bolt straight it in.

“There are still other areas where they will be on top of things, but this means they can’t grab the exact same set up and put it in the car.

“It’s a small thing, but it will pull some of the cost out of the small teams who are trying to compete with them.”

The first round of the 2012 Development Series will be held at the Clipsal 500 on March 1-4.

Kelly Racing could run as many as two cars in this year’s Development V8 Supercars Series (formally known as the Fujitsu V8 Series).

The Melbourne-based team, which runs four cars in the V8 Supercars Championship, has indicated an intention to enter at least one, possibly two cars, in the second-tier series.

Team owner/driver and former V8 champion Rick Kelly says that his team is looking at its options for 2012.

“There’s a chance we will run in the Development Series,” Kelly told Speedcafe.com.

“There’s a lot of great talent out there without an opportunity. We have a lot of equipment and reasons to be running in that series as well.”

If Kelly Racing does enter the Development Series, it is likely that Cameron Waters will be one of the drivers.

Waters is the reigning Australian Formula Ford Champion and drove with the team thanks to winning the inaugural Shannons Supercar Showdown reality TV show.

Waters also made a one-off start with Kelly Racing in the Development Series at Sandown last November.

“The amount of ability that Cam has shown us in the past six months, you can’t let that talent sit on the sideline,” Kelly said.

“If we were to do something in the Development Series, he would be very high on our list.”

The option of running two Development Series cars would bring the team’s total entries up to six cars for seven events this season. With six chassis in his team’s inventory, Kelly says that they have the equipment to do it, but admits that it will be hard work.

“It is certainly do-able. We’ll need to get the right staffing to do it,” he said.

“Ideally, we would focus on our four Championship cars and get them up the front before you would expand, but while there are opportunities, we can’t let them go.

“If it means we need to bite off a big chunk and chew like buggery, then that’s what we’re going to do.”

The first event of both the V8 Supercars Championship and the Development Series will be at the Clipsal 500 Adelaide on March 1-4.
