Event 4 at the Melbourne AGP is a non championship event meaning points from the races you earn do not go towards your championship points. With this, the results from this event isn't always accurate...teams treat the event like an extended testing session.
However V8 Supercars Australia has threatened teams with a fine if they do not give a 110% performance, something I'm sure will have little effect as it will be hard to prove if they weren't giving it there best. Lets get onto the personal views preview - feel free to post yours aswell! Event Predication As I said earlier, teams use this event as an extended test so if a new part you are trailing is a beauty, you probably will do well. Holden should get the manufactures title given the two best teams (HRT and 888) are on the same side - hopefully they don't do a 888/FPR in 2008 and run into each other! Who to Look Out For! Will Davison needs to find some form after a tough season start. James Courtney and Craig Lowndes have had pace this year but not any top spot finishes yet, they'll be keen to notch up a win or more. Don't forget Lowndes is the defending event champion from 2009 aswell. We expect Tander and Whincup to be up there, maybe Ingall and the Kellys aswell given there recent form at this track over the past few years. On a side note, does anyone have any TV schedule for the ONE HD broadcast of the V8 races, I don't really want to watch F1 |

I reckon it'll be a fight between Whincup, Tander, Lowndes, Frosty and Courtney. GT has form coming out of Adelaide and Lowndesy won the event last year as Justin said. Whincup, Frosty and JC have probably been the three best guys this year, I'm hoping Holdsworth and Gizzy will be up there too. |

The way the races are set out this year is Qualifying on the Thursday, Shootout and a race on Friday and then a race on Saturday and Sunday.
I don't believe this year they are doing the manufactures challenge due to the out numbered Holdens to Fords. As mentioned before it's very much another test session's for the teams. I think HRT and will further improve there cars to catch 888, while other teams will have a go and some just stay out of trouble. It doesn't mean they wont try but there mat be more clean racing outside of the championship rounds. |

Since its a non championship weekend and I highly doubt that the $2 Million Grand Slam prize will go off, why not turn it into an all star format similar to the Nascar event.
